The Role of a Lab Technician at AB InBev
As a Lab Technician, you'll be at the heart of AB InBev’s commitment to quality and efficiency. This role is focused on maintaining safety, maximizing equipment availability, and ensuring that all systems operate smoothly. Below are some of the critical responsibilities you'll take on in this position:
1. Safety and Compliance: Safety is a top priority at AB InBev, and this role involves conducting regular risk assessments and adhering to safety standards in all equipment operations. As a Lab Technician, you'll contribute to a safe and healthy workplace by following operational protocols and keeping up with safety requirements.
2. Equipment Maintenance and Optimization: A key focus of this role is the maintenance, calibration, and repair of laboratory and production equipment. This involves planning maintenance schedules, troubleshooting, and continuously optimizing equipment to ensure smooth operations.
3. Team Collaboration and Development: Working closely with other technicians and team members, you'll engage in effective communication, contribute to team development, and help foster a culture of continuous improvement. 4. Application of VPO Principles: AB InBev follows the VPO (Visual Performance Optimization) framework to ensure all processes meet high standards. 5. Training and Succession Planning: As part of developing a high-performing team, you’ll play a role in training new team members and preparing them for future responsibilities. This involves developing training plans, assessing skills, and implementing a clear succession plan to ensure a robust talent pipeline.
Key Qualifications and Attributes
To excel in this role, AB InBev is looking for candidates with the following qualifications and skills:
- Educational Background: A minimum diploma in Electrical Engineering, with a degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering preferred.
- Industry Experience: 3-5 years of experience in the manufacturing industry, ideally with hands-on expertise in maintenance and calibration of laboratory and production equipment.
- Technical and Interpersonal Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, analytical skills, and a keen attention to detail are essential. Additionally, good communication and team collaboration skills are vital in this role.
- Leadership Qualities: The ideal candidate will have motivational and developmental skills, an ability to organize work effectively, and a commitment to upholding standards and continuous improvement.
