The Technical Advisor Role: Key Responsibilities

The Technical Advisor will be a critical support in implementing Tanzania’s vitamin A supplementation (VAS) initiative, aiming for a >80% coverage among children aged 6-59 months. Working with government health teams and key stakeholders, the role involves:

  1. Policy and Program Development: Working closely with NI's Senior Program Officer to design strategic plans that align with NI’s objectives.
  2. Program Coordination: Ensuring the seamless operation of NI-funded initiatives by liaising with various stakeholders.
  3. Monitoring and Reporting: Managing program documentation, financial commitments, and timely reporting to keep projects on track.
  4. Collaboration: Building partnerships with government agencies, NGOs, and UN agencies to foster information-sharing and improved coordination in VAS programming.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate brings:

  • A Master’s degree in child health, nutrition, public health, or a related field.
  • Three or more years of experience in child health and nutrition, especially in program implementation and supervision.
  • Strong organizational and numerical skills to handle detailed project planning and budgeting.
  • Flexibility, resilience, and a commitment to working under pressure to meet deadlines.
