About the Project
WWF Tanzania, under its Energy and Climate Change Program, is implementing the Integrated Approach for Transformation of Tanzania Fuel Wood Value Chain Project (TFWVC), funded by the European Union. This project spans the regions of Dar es Salaam, Mwanza, Tabora, Morogoro, Tanga, and Coastal areas, aiming to address challenges within the fuel wood value chain while promoting sustainable practices.
To support this initiative, WWF seeks a dynamic and skilled Project Communication and Outreach Officer to lead communication efforts and foster public awareness of the project’s objectives and achievements.
Key Responsibilities
Communication and Outreach Strategy:
Develop and implement communication strategies to effectively convey project goals, progress, and achievements to a wide range of stakeholders.Public Awareness Initiatives:
Promote project activities and results through engaging campaigns, events, and materials, ensuring alignment with WWF’s mission and standards.Knowledge Management:
Facilitate the documentation and sharing of lessons learned, best practices, and innovative approaches from the project.Stakeholder Engagement:
Collaborate with government agencies, community leaders, donors, and partners to strengthen support and visibility for the project.Media and Content Production:
Create high-quality content, including press releases, articles, social media updates, and visual materials to boost project awareness.Collaboration:
Work closely with the Head of Communication, Energy and Climate Change Practice Coordinator, and the project implementation team to ensure seamless operations and alignment with organizational priorities.
Qualifications and Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Environmental Studies, or a related field.
- Proven experience in project communication, public outreach, or similar roles, preferably within the NGO sector.
- Strong writing, editing, and content creation skills.
- Proficiency in digital communication tools and platforms.
- Exceptional interpersonal and organizational abilities.
- Passion for environmental conservation and sustainable development.
