About the Role: Supply Chain Officer (Warehouse Management)

As a Supply Chain Officer (Warehouse Management), you will ensure the seamless operation of warehouse and inventory management in alignment with DRC’s Operations Handbook, donor requirements, and government regulations. Based in Nduta, this role is critical in maintaining efficiency, compliance, and the smooth delivery of goods and services to various stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

Warehouse Management

  • Ensure full compliance with DRC warehouse and inventory management policies.
  • Oversee the receipt, safe storage, and dispatch of goods, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to safety standards.
  • Maintain warehouse premises in a clean, organized, and secure state.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to prepare for incoming goods by arranging storage space, loaders, and paperwork.
  • Conduct regular and monthly physical inventory checks in line with DRC and donor guidelines.
  • Provide weekly and monthly stock reports to the Supply Chain Team Leader – Logistics.
  • Monitor items requiring disposal (expired, broken, or unused) and facilitate timely action.
  • Coordinate deliveries and shipments between various locations, ensuring clear communication.
  • Secure necessary permits for camp entry in coordination with government authorities and internal teams.
  • Report incidents or discrepancies involving warehouse facilities or stored consignments promptly.
  • Support asset management processes by notifying the relevant team of new purchases or dispatches.
  • Maintain organized and secure documentation as per DRC filing SOPs.
  • Assist in preparing accurate, up-to-date documentation during audits.

Representation

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including suppliers, government bodies, UNHCR, and its logistics partners.

Qualifications and Skills

Essential Experience

  • At least 3 years of experience in supply chain functions within a humanitarian context.
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain and logistics management.
  • Familiarity with donor policies and compliance procedures (e.g., UNHCR, DANIDA).
  • Experience with ERP systems, especially DRC Dynamics, is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in English and Kiswahili, both written and spoken.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Competencies

  • Detail-oriented with a focus on compliance.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, adaptable to diverse cultural settings.
  • Proactive, flexible, and eager to learn.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in a relevant field.
  • Certification in Humanitarian Logistics and Supply Chain Management is a plus.

Languages

  • Strong proficiency in English and Swahili.
