About the Role
As the Mechanical Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of mechanical systems at Twiga Cement’s operations. This full-time position calls for a proactive leader with technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to excellence.
Responsibilities
Your duties will cover all aspects of mechanical engineering management, including:
Maintenance Management
Plan and oversee preventive maintenance schedules to minimize equipment downtime.
Attend to plant emergencies and breakdowns promptly, ensuring maximum availability.
Equipment Installation and Troubleshooting
Supervise installation and commissioning of new machinery and systems.
Diagnose mechanical issues and implement effective solutions.
Quality and Compliance
Conduct inspections to ensure all components meet quality standards and industry specifications.
Enforce strict compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards.
Project Management
Lead mechanical projects, including system upgrades and new installations.
Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Operational Planning
Develop the annual mechanical operating plan and budget.
Oversee the reliable distribution of compressed air and water to maintain serviceability.
What You Bring
To excel in this role, you need:
- A Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Proficiency in mechanical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
- Registration with the Engineers Registration Board or the Institute of Engineers Tanzania.
- At least three (3) years of experience in a similar role.
