Are you an experienced HR professional passionate about fostering a supportive and efficient work environment? ALAF is looking for a dedicated Human Resources Officer to lead and manage HR services and processes, ensuring excellence in employee support, compliance, and organizational development.

About the Role

As a Human Resources Officer at ALAF, you will be pivotal in driving HR service delivery, recruitment, employee welfare, and compliance with regulatory standards. This role combines strategic insight with hands-on involvement in core HR functions to meet organizational goals.


Your Key Responsibilities

1. Employee Services:

  • Ensure compliance with Security, Health, Safety, and Environmental protocols.
  • Maintain and update employee service logs for accuracy.
  • Monitor adherence to OSHA, NHIF, NSSF, and WCF regulations.
  • Address and resolve employee queries promptly and effectively.
  • Manage HR services within the allocated budget.

2. HR Services and Process Management:

  • Oversee the implementation of robust systems and processes for seamless HR operations.
  • Continuously assess and improve HR workflows for quality and efficiency.
  • Manage third-party HR service providers to meet cost, time, and quality standards.
  • Promote a customer-centric approach in addressing employee and stakeholder queries.
  • Stay updated on best HR practices and integrate them into service delivery models.

3. Recruitment and Talent Management:

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment processes, from job postings to onboarding.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive job descriptions and competence profiles.
  • Coordinate induction programs to integrate new hires effectively.
  • Maintain a centralized applicant database and tracking system.
  • Track key timelines, such as probationary periods, and issue timely follow-ups.

4. HR Information System (HRIS) Administration:

  • Input and manage employee data in HRIS, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
  • Generate reports and handle payroll-related queries using HRIS.
  • Maintain electronic and digital employee records for seamless accessibility.
  • Collaborate with ICT to manage system updates and employee email registrations.

5. Compensation, Recognition, and Rewards:

  • Ensure compliance with job grading and reward structures.
  • Administer employee satisfaction and remuneration surveys.
  • Implement actionable outcomes from survey findings to enhance employee engagement.

6. Reporting and Analytics:

  • Prepare detailed monthly HR reports to aid management decision-making.
  • Leverage HR metrics and analytics for internal and business-focused reporting.

7. Strategic Business Support:

  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners (HRBPs) to design change programs aimed at boosting productivity.
  • Assist HRBPs in planning optimal human capital deployment to eliminate staffing inefficiencies.

What We’re Looking For

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Administration, or Social Sciences.

Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum of 4 years in an HR role, with a focus on HR services management.
  • Hands-on experience with SAGE ERP is a distinct advantage.
  • Strong understanding of HR policies, practices, and procedures in an organizational context.
  • Exceptional communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
  • High energy, maturity, and a proactive approach to innovation and change.
