Role Overview
The Operations Manager will oversee and manage financial, administrative, and operational functions to ensure the smooth running of Isamilo International School. This critical leadership role involves strategic planning, financial sustainability, resource optimization, and team management. Working closely with the Head of School and the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), the Operations Manager will ensure that school resources are effectively utilized to achieve the institution’s mission.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning and Development
- Contribute to the school’s long-term strategic goals by conducting business analysis and offering actionable recommendations.
- Identify organizational risks and create mitigation strategies.
- Support growth and sustainability initiatives by aligning operations with strategic objectives.
Operations and Administration
- Lead and streamline administrative processes, including procurement, IT systems, and office management.
- Develop and enforce policies to improve operational efficiency and compliance.
- Manage vendor relationships, contracts, leases, and service agreements.
Human Resources Management
- Oversee HR functions, including recruitment, staff onboarding, training, and performance evaluations.
- Implement policies to promote staff well-being, retention, and professional growth.
- Build organizational capacity through training and development programs for the team.
Financial Management
- Supervise all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, reporting, and audits.
- Develop and execute financial strategies to ensure sustainability and regulatory compliance.
- Prepare and present financial reports to stakeholders, including the board of directors.
- Manage cash flow, investments, and financial risks.
Stakeholder Relations
- Act as the primary point of contact for financial and administrative matters with external partners, donors, and auditors.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align operational and educational goals.
- Foster strong relationships with government agencies and community stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience
Education
- A bachelor’s degree in business management, administration, or a related field is required.
- A master’s degree or equivalent professional qualifications is an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum of 10 years in business management, including 5 years in a leadership role.
- Experience in international education or profit-oriented organizations is preferred.
