Our current focus is on revolutionizing healthcare in Tanzania by partnering with the Government to develop a digital citizen feedback service. This innovative platform equips healthcare leaders with actionable insights to drive service quality improvements and better patient outcomes.

Grounded in robust academic research, we are committed to scaling this transformative platform nationally in Tanzania, expanding to new sectors and regions, and impacting lives globally. Over the next three years, our goal is to embed this platform within the national healthcare system, while also introducing it to two additional countries.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Fundraising & Partnerships Manager to lead efforts in securing resources and building partnerships that drive our mission forward. In this role, you will collaborate closely with our CEO to manage prospecting, proposal development, grants oversight, and reporting. This role demands an organized, detail-oriented individual with exceptional communication and writing skills.


Key Responsibilities

Prospecting and Proposal Development

  • Pipeline Management: Build and oversee a pipeline of funding opportunities, identifying and prioritizing prospective partners.
  • Tracking and Organization: Maintain and update the organization’s funder database and relationship management tool to ensure timely follow-ups and actions.
  • Relationship Cultivation: Assist the CEO in engaging with partners while nurturing relationships with past and potential funders.
  • Strategic Alignment: Develop proposals and budgets that align with Wezesha’s strategy and funder priorities.
  • Proposal Writing: Take ownership of drafting high-quality funding proposals and ensuring timely submission.
  • Due Diligence: Respond to due diligence requests from potential partners by preparing required documentation.

Grants Management and Reporting

  • Performance Monitoring: Track progress against grant deliverables, including outputs, outcomes, and budgets, in collaboration with Finance and Program teams.
  • Funder Engagement: Assist the CEO in delivering clear, engaging updates to funders throughout the grant lifecycle.
  • Timely Reporting: Maintain a reporting calendar to ensure all grant reports are submitted accurately and on time.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Vision and Values: A strong passion for Wezesha’s mission and values.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to manage organizational responsibilities and demonstrate ownership of tasks.
  • Growth-Oriented: A desire to grow professionally, with a willingness to seek, provide, and accept feedback.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, particularly in crafting compelling proposals and reports.
  • Organizational Excellence: Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in managing tasks and deadlines.
  • Fundraising Experience (Preferred): Familiarity with nonprofit fundraising and grant writing is a significant advantage.
