As an Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in managing the organization’s financial systems, ensuring compliance, and providing insights to optimize resource allocation.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and evaluate the performance of accounting staff.
- Plan, organize, and schedule activities for specialized accounting functions or multiple accounting areas.
- Prepare or supervise the preparation of financial reports and reconciliations.
- Produce specialized or complex reports, statements, and analyses for management.
- Maintain detailed accounting and budget records.
- Offer actionable recommendations to management based on accounting data trends.
- Manage inventories of office fixed assets, equipment, and supplies, ensuring insurance coverage and proper maintenance.
- Conduct training on accounting systems and procedures for staff.
- Prepare monthly financial reports with appropriate coding and allocations.
- Coordinate and prepare for project audits, including financial documentation.
- Assist project staff in creating and revising activity budgets.
- Provide technical advice on complex accounting issues or special projects.
- Stay updated on new or revised accounting principles and practices.
Skills and Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, theories, and practices.
- Proven supervisory skills with the ability to manage teams effectively.
- Attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
- Proficiency in computerized accounting systems, preferably SAGE 300 Advance.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and IT skills.
- Strong numerical aptitude, planning, and organizational skills.
- Integrity, teamwork, leadership abilities, and a capacity to thrive in a multicultural environment.
