Position Title: Procurement Officer

Role Overview
WWF Tanzania is looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Procurement Officer to join our team. Reporting to the Senior Procurement Officer and Operations Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing procurement and logistics for both the Headquarters (HQ) and Landscape Office. This position will involve assisting in the execution, implementation, and management of all procurement functions while ensuring compliance with WWF policies and standards across all Tanzania Country Office (TCO) projects.
Key Responsibilities

Procurement Process Management:
- Assist in preparing and dispatching requests for quotations (RFQs), bid invitations, and proposals.
- Maintain updated procurement documents and manuals for easy access.
- Review requisitions for completeness and accuracy, resolving discrepancies with originating departments.
- Identify suitable suppliers and coordinate supplier evaluations.

Logistics and Coordination:
- Research local and international pricing for procurement of low-value items.
- Collaborate with the Operations Manager to ensure efficient procurement processes, including bid security and contract distribution.
- Facilitate delivery of purchased items to the receiving office and complete the procurement cycle.

Documentation and Compliance:
- Maintain proper procurement records for audit purposes.
- Create and issue Purchase Orders after receiving approved quotation analysis.
- Work with the Senior Procurement Officer to establish procurement plans that ensure timely delivery of goods and services.

Administrative Support:
- Assist in preparing reports, correspondence, and procurement-related documentation.
- Support administrative tasks such as visa and work permit processing in collaboration with the Operations Manager.

General Duties:
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support operational efficiency.
Qualifications and Skills
Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement and Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Professional Experience:
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in procurement, supplies, and logistics, preferably in government, NGOs, or international organizations.
- Familiarity with environmental and community development issues is an advantage.
Key Competencies:
- Strong organizational and planning abilities.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the capacity to foster effective relationships within WWF and externally.
- Capability to work in a multicultural environment with adaptability and responsiveness.
- Proficiency in both English and Kiswahili, with excellent written and verbal communication.
- Skilled in computer applications, especially related to procurement systems.
