As part of our efforts to enhance operations and efficiency, we are seeking a Loan Recovery Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring effective recovery of outstanding loans.

Position: Loan Recovery Officer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and track outstanding loans.
  • Develop and implement strategies to recover overdue payments.
  • Achieve loan recovery targets within the given timeframe.
  • Locate and engage with debtors to negotiate repayment plans.
  • Regularly update account statuses and maintain an accurate database.
  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and provide timely resolutions.
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements when initiating necessary actions.
  • Build trust and maintain positive relationships with clients.
  • Identify gaps in recovery processes and recommend improvements.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: A university degree or equivalent qualification in Business Administration, Finance, or related fields.
  • Experience: Minimum of one year in a similar position, with at least two years in loan recovery for a microfinance or banking institution.
  • In-depth knowledge of legal frameworks related to loan recovery.
  • Strong negotiation and persuasion abilities.
  • Proven experience working under tight deadlines and meeting targets.
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and Swahili (written and verbal).
  • Team-oriented mindset with good time-management and interpersonal skills.
