Dangote Cement Plc is looking for a Fleet Officer to manage and oversee the movement of cement products and raw materials between the Plant and designated locations. Job Summary

As a Fleet Officer, you will play a key role in managing vehicular traffic, loading processes, and dispatch operations to ensure smooth and efficient logistics activities at the plant. You will be responsible for coordinating vehicle allocation, optimizing fleet performance, and ensuring compliance with Dangote’s Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards.

Key Responsibilities

Fleet & Logistics Coordination:

  • Oversee vehicular traffic within the plant, ensuring orderly loading and off-loading activities.
  • Monitor the storage and dispatch of cement and raw materials.
  • Ensure trucks are allocated and dispatched efficiently based on FIFO (First In, First Out) principles.

Operations & Compliance:

  • Ensure adherence to DIL’s Health, Safety, and Environment standards in all logistics operations.
  • Ensure that all vehicles carrying raw materials arrive from designated locations as planned.
  • Verify and recover AGO (Automotive Gas Oil) for short kilometer trips.

Incident & Documentation Management:

  • Ensure the timely collection of accident-related documents for reporting and resolution.
  • Keep records of vehicle arrivals, truck breakdowns, and emergency occurrences.
  • Prepare and submit logistics activity reports with improvement recommendations.

Support & Collaboration:

  • Ensure the timely allocation of vehicles for collecting spare parts and other essential materials.
  • Liaise with transporters to track truck movements, delays, and any emergencies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by senior management and the Head of Department.

What We’re Looking For

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Business, Transport & Logistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in logistics management.

Skills & Attributes:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Solid understanding of cement industry logistics and regulatory frameworks.
  • Knowledge of inventory management systems and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, SAP, and Project Management tools.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to adapt to changing requirements.
