Key Responsibilities
- Perform pre-start checks and assist the driller with rig inspections.
- Conduct equipment checks and maintain trailer stock levels, updating supervisors on any changes.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in all workspaces, prioritizing housekeeping and hazard-free environments.
- Actively identify and communicate potential hazards to the driller or supervisor.
- Participate in toolbox meetings, sharing any noted safety concerns or violations.
- Remain alert to changing conditions that could compromise safety, promptly reporting them.
- Follow work instructions and support the supervisor’s directives.
- Handle core samples by removing them from tubes, placing them in boxes, and labeling appropriately.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Education: Ordinary Secondary School Certificate.
- Skills:
- Heavy mobile equipment operation, spotting, or offsider experience.
- Awareness of Mines Health & Safety Act.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years in the mining industry.
- Machine operation experience in large underground mining operations.
- Proficiency in hazard identification and risk assessment.
- Additional Requirements:
- Strong English communication skills (written and verbal).
- Valid driving license and demonstrated driving ability.
