Position Title: Property Manager
Location: Embassy of Sweden, Dar es Salaam
Reporting to: Head of Chancery
The Embassy of Sweden in Dar es Salaam serves as Sweden’s official representation in Tanzania, supporting diplomatic, trade, and development cooperation efforts, as well as consular and visa services. With a team of approximately 40 staff members, the Embassy is committed to fostering Swedish interests in the region.
We are seeking a qualified Property Manager to oversee the management and maintenance of the Embassy’s properties, ensuring optimal functionality and security.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operations of the Embassy’s properties, ensuring all facilities function efficiently.
- Coordinate maintenance, repairs, and renovation projects with the Embassy team and the Swedish National Property Board.
- Develop and manage property budgets, including tracking expenses and preparing financial reports.
- Ensure adherence to local property management laws and regulations.
- Act as the primary liaison for tenants, promptly addressing concerns to maintain a positive environment.
- Implement security measures to protect the properties and their occupants.
- Conduct routine inspections to maintain property standards and ensure compliance with Embassy expectations.
- Manage relationships with service providers to ensure uninterrupted delivery of essential services.
- Perform other property-related tasks as assigned by the Head of Chancery.
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience: At least 5 years of property management experience, preferably in a diplomatic or similar environment.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of building systems, including plumbing, electrical systems, and general mechanical skills.
- Education: A degree in engineering or a related field is required.
- Organizational Skills: Proven ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Language Proficiency: Fluent in English and Kiswahili.
- Driving Skills: Must hold a valid Class C driver’s license.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Professionalism: A commitment to delivering high-quality service and upholding the Embassy’s standards.
