Position Title:

SUPPLY CHAIN OFFICER

Reporting to:

LOGISTICS TEAM LEADER

Location:

Liwale, Lindi


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and organize daily activities of the supply chain team, ensuring smooth execution of their tasks.
  • Manage procurement, inventory, and logistics at the project or coordination level, ensuring efficient operations.
  • Ensure proper administration of supply chain processes, maintaining compliance with MSF procedures and proposing improvements when necessary.
  • Maintain and manage the supply database, ensuring accurate documentation and archiving of supply records.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing updates on order statuses and prioritizing procurement needs.
  • Address and analyze claims from the field, implementing corrective measures as needed.
  • Collaborate with HR and the Supply Supervisor to handle recruitment, training, evaluations, and development of supply chain staff.
  • Report significant issues to the Logistics Team Leader and prepare reports to support informed decision-making.
  • Conduct market assessments in the Lindi region, including supplier evaluations and price tracking.
  • Archive all supply activity documents systematically.
  • Be willing to permanently relocate and reside in Liwale, Lindi.

MSF in Tanzania:

MSF has been actively supporting Tanzania since 1993, focusing on emergency response, healthcare delivery, and epidemic management. The Liwale project, launched in December 2022, provides integrated maternal and child healthcare through partnerships with the Ministry of Health. The project supports seven health facilities, including four secondary care centers and three primary healthcare units, along with staff recruitment, medical supply provision, training, and infrastructure rehabilitation.


Qualifications and Experience:

Education:

  • Essential: Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience in supply chain management, with a focus on supply administration and procedure organization.
  • Desirable: Familiarity with MSF field logistics, including knowledge of MSF equipment and kits.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in computer applications (Word, Excel, and Internet).
  • Fluency in English and Kiswahili.
