About the Role
As a Procurement Manager, you’ll oversee the purchasing department’s operations, ensuring quality products and services, negotiating contracts, and maintaining efficient supply chain practices. You’ll be instrumental in developing procurement strategies, managing budgets, and collaborating across departments to drive performance and achieve business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise the purchasing team and activities, ensuring operational excellence.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies and policies to improve processes and outcomes.
- Plan and execute purchases of equipment, services, and supplies within budgetary guidelines.
- Analyze and approve products and services, ensuring competitive pricing and quality.
- Manage inventory levels and maintain accurate pricing records.
- Establish and nurture strong supplier relationships, conducting performance reviews and contract negotiations.
- Oversee warehousing and distribution operations, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
- Leverage data analytics to drive procurement decisions and identify strategic opportunities.
- Lead projects related to spend analytics, sourcing, supplier selection, and risk management.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders to influence decisions and align procurement goals with business needs.
Deliverables:
- Achieve targets outlined in the Annual Operating Plan (AOP).
- Develop and execute cross-functional category strategies.
- Foster strong governance processes and maintain category forums.
- Build long-term supplier partnerships that create mutual value and uphold corporate citizenship criteria.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, finance, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Advanced certifications in procurement (e.g., CPPO, CPPB, or Certified Purchasing Manager) are advantageous.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in procurement or supply chain management with a proven track record of performance.
- Deep understanding of category management and sourcing strategies.
- Experience with clearing and forwarding processes, financial modeling, and cost analysis.
- Strong analytical, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects and influence senior stakeholders.
- Proficiency in IT tools, including database management and spreadsheets.
