Job Overview

Join DHL, a global leader in logistics and express services, as an SVC Operations, Assistant Supervisor in Tanzania. In this role, you’ll be instrumental in maintaining operational efficiency, ensuring compliance, and delivering exceptional service quality.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Operational Oversight & Quality Control:

    • Perform detailed debriefs of all couriers in line with GSOP standards.
    • Conduct perfect shipment checks to ensure no miscodes before outbound processing.
    • Use AQCC and debrief tools daily to address process quality issues.
    • Ensure timely returns of checkpoints and standard remarks to the network.
  2. Team Leadership & Training:

    • Conduct coach rides for couriers, ensuring GSOP standards are met.
    • Provide clear direction and performance standards to the team.
    • Execute courier coaching sessions and document outcomes.
    • Build and lead a motivated team while holding team members accountable.
  3. Performance Analysis & Reporting:

    • Analyze operational performance to identify and rectify underperformance.
    • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly pickup and delivery reports.
    • Share fleet, fuel, and petty cash tracker reports monthly.
  4. Fleet & Asset Management:

    • Perform daily vehicle checklists and ensure cleanliness, maintenance, and service.
    • Monitor fuel levels, vehicle defects, and plan repairs proactively.
    • Oversee petty cash balancing for minor expenses such as parking fees and repairs.
  5. Compliance & Security:

    • Ensure adherence to DHL’s security policies, health, safety, and environmental guidelines.
    • Verify compliance with local regulatory requirements.
    • Prevent Dangerous Goods (DG) shipments from penetrating the network.
  6. Customer Service Collaboration:

    • Resolve service problems in collaboration with customer service teams.
    • Manage client communication regarding inbound shipments with bad addresses.
  7. Project Support:

    • Assist with the implementation of regional and country-specific projects and initiatives.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in operational roles.
  • Education: First degree in Business Studies or an equivalent qualification.
