📌 Job Purpose
As a Junior Audit Officer, you will support the Internal Audit & Risk Manager in evaluating and strengthening Watu’s internal controls to ensure the company achieves its strategic and operational goals.
🎯 Key Responsibilities
🔹 Audit & Risk Management
✔ Assist in audit planning, documentation, and execution.
✔ Conduct walkthroughs and evaluate internal control environments.
✔ Perform control and substantive testing.
✔ Support financial, operational, compliance, and IT audits.
✔ Prepare audit testing programs to assess risk areas.
✔ Document audit observations and lead discussions with auditees.
✔ Ensure adherence to audit methodologies and reporting guidelines.
🔹 Reporting & Compliance
✔ Prepare audit reports with clear conclusions and evidence-based recommendations.
✔ Maintain accurate audit records for easy retrieval and reference.
✔ Monitor adherence to company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards.
🔹 Relationship & Stakeholder Management
✔ Collaborate with internal departments and external partners for audit-related tasks.
✔ Build relationships with key business stakeholders to enhance compliance and efficiency.
✔ Track and manage reporting timelines and deliverables.
🔹 Performance Metrics
✔ Percentage of audits completed vs. planned assignments.
✔ Compliance with defined audit methodologies and documentation standards.
✔ Impact of audit findings on operational efficiencies and cost savings.
✔ Number of professional certifications and training hours completed per year.
📜 Ideal Candidate Profile
✅ Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or Information Technology from a recognized institution.
✅ Professional Certifications: ACCA/CPA (2nd Level). CIA or CISA is a plus.
✅ Experience: Minimum 2 years in internal or external audit within a reputable organization or financial institution.

✅ Strong understanding of audit standards, laws, and regulations.
✅ Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
✅ Proficiency in data analysis and manipulation tools is an added advantage.
✅ Ability to work under pressure, manage heavy workloads, and meet tight deadlines.
✅ Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
✅ High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
