Uwezo Tanzania is a registered Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) dedicated to advancing literacy and numeracy, early childhood development, mental health awareness, life skills, digital literacy, climate change education, and gender equity.

We are currently seeking a Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Consultant to play a pivotal role in designing, coordinating, and implementing monitoring, evaluation, research, and learning frameworks for our projects. The consultant will ensure data-driven decision-making, provide technical support, and contribute to the success of our programs.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Monitoring & Evaluation

  • Track and assess project activities to ensure progress toward desired outcomes.
  • Develop a Project Monitoring Plan (PMP) aligned with project goals.
  • Conduct capacity assessments and enhance the M&E culture within Uwezo staff and partners.

Data Collection, Analysis & Reporting

  • Collect, analyze, and generate strategic documents for research and advocacy.
  • Provide data-driven insights for quarterly, annual, and project management reports.
  • Support program staff in producing high-quality donor and government reports.

Capacity Building & Strategy Development

  • Design and implement M&E tools, surveys, and evaluation systems.
  • Train and empower staff in data-driven decision-making.
  • Ensure effective coordination across project components for seamless implementation.

Fundraising & Proposal Writing

  • Lead the drafting of funding proposals and organizational profiles.
  • Contribute to the development of persuasive project documents for stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications & Experience:

🔹 Education: Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Monitoring & Evaluation, or a related field.
🔹 Experience: Minimum 2 years in M&E within development programs.
🔹 Technical Proficiency:

  • Strong skills in Windows Excel and quantitative analysis.
  • Ability to design M&E tools, surveys, and evaluation systems.
  • Experience with program design and M&E plan development.

🔹 Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills in both Kiswahili and English (verbal and written).
  • Demonstrated ability to train and build capacity in M&E methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within Tanzania.
