🎯 Role Overview
As an Accounting Associate, you will provide professional accounting and financial support across various functions, including Field Accounting, Accounts Payable, and Fixed Assets. You will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure financial accuracy and compliance with policies and standards.
Your expertise will contribute to effective financial management, resource optimization, and program integrity within Compassion’s operations.
🔑 Key Responsibilities
🏛️ Financial Oversight & Reporting
✔ Assist in reviewing monthly financial reports for Field Church Partners (FCPs), identifying financial trends, and providing insights to management.
✔ Work closely with Senior Management Accountant (SMA) to evaluate how FCPs manage resources and recommend financial improvements.
✔ Conduct financial report analysis to detect errors, ensure compliance with accounting policies, and validate correct financial classifications.
📊 Accounting & Transactional Support
✔ Assist in monthly and annual financial closing processes, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
✔ Prepare and record journal entries, including inter-company transactions in the general ledger system.
✔ Perform bank reconciliations, general ledger reconciliations, and monitor financial transactions.
💰 Payment & Procurement Coordination
✔ Manage and coordinate payments to field offices, vendors, brokers, and donors.
✔ Ensure timely processing of financial transactions while maintaining high standards of financial stewardship.
✔ Support procurement processes to ensure compliance with internal financial policies.
📜 Audit & Compliance Support
✔ Prepare professional documentation for internal and external audits.
✔ Assist in internal auditing activities to maintain transparency and adherence to financial regulations.
✔ Ensure compliance with Compassion’s financial reporting standards and regulatory guidelines.

📚 Qualifications & Experience
🎓 Education
✔ Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
💼 Experience
✔ Prior experience in financial reporting, accounting, procurement processes, or internal auditing.
✔ Strong understanding of financial analysis, budget management, and compliance.
📜 Certifications (Preferred)
✔ Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) certification is an added advantage.
🛠 Skills & Competencies
✔ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
✔ Experience with accounting software and ERP systems.
✔ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
