CMS (Tanzania) Limited, a leading mineral exploration drilling company operating in Tanzania, is seeking a committed and professional HSE Officer to join our team at the Nyanzaga site. Position: HSE Officer
Location: Nyanzaga Site, Tanzania
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide training, guidance, and support to management, supervisors, and employees on environmental, health, and safety protocols in line with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct Job Safety Analyses, competency assessments, and Continuous Risk Assessments to develop Safe Work and Safe Operating Procedures.
- Address unsafe conditions, manage hazard reports, and respond effectively to emergency situations.
- Monitor and coordinate statutory medical checks, including pre-employment, periodic, and exit medical examinations, while overseeing the OSHA/WIMS portal.
- Ensure compliance with HSE protocols, proper housekeeping, and safe handling of chemicals and hazardous substances.
- Maintain site safety systems in alignment with ISO standards and compliance regulations.
- Serve as the Hazardous Waste Disposal Officer, overseeing the inspection, evaluation, and proper management of hazardous materials on site.
- Track, record, and manage reported hazards, ensuring timely resolution and closure.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in a relevant field.
- Certified OSHA Basic Training.
- At least three (3) years of experience in an HSE role, preferably within the drilling or mining industry.
- Strong understanding of Tanzania OSHA Legislation and ISO Standards.
- Proficiency in both English and Swahili (written and verbal).
- Excellent interpersonal and multitasking skills.
- Proficient in MS Office applications.
- Experience in multinational and culturally diverse work environments is an advantage.
