About Serengeti Breweries Limited (SBL)
SBL was originally incorporated as Associated Breweries Limited in 1988 and rebranded to Serengeti Breweries Limited (SBL) in 2002. It began commercial operations in 1996 with its first brewery in Dar es Salaam. In 2010, East African Breweries Limited (EABL) acquired the company, expanding its operations to include three breweries in Dar es Salaam, Mwanza, and Moshi.
SBL’s flagship brand is Serengeti Premium Lager, alongside a diverse portfolio that includes Guinness and Plisner. Additionally, SBL distributes globally recognized Diageo spirits such as Johnnie Walker®, Smirnoff Vodka®, Bailey’s Irish Cream®, Richot®, Bond 7 Whiskey®, and Gilbey’s Gin®.
About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accounts Receivable Analyst to support our finance operations. This role ensures compliance with financial processes, vendor transactions, and regulatory requirements while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, review, and validate vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy in POs, EFD receipts, TINs, and VRNs.
- Identify and escalate invoice discrepancies to vendors or the Procurement team for resolution.
- Accurately code applicable taxes (WHT, VAT, or Zero-rated).
- Scan and process invoices that meet tax and PTP governance requirements.
- Reconcile with the Invoice Processing Team to ensure all invoices are posted, and issues are addressed.
- Maintain comprehensive records to support audit and compliance obligations.
- Print treasury instructions for signatories and dispatch them to banks.
- Process and dispatch payment instructions for farmers and vendors under the Supplier Financing Scheme via CITI Bank.
- Work closely with DBSI and Procurement to resolve vendor issues and ensure smooth payment processing.
- Support treasury operations to manage vendor payments efficiently.
Qualifications & Experience Required
- 5+ years’ experience in customer-facing finance or accounting roles.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with a strong academic record.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills, capable of handling financial data with precision.
- Proficiency in SAP and other financial systems.
- Familiarity with Diageo’s Global Processes (STP & Data) is an added advantage.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
