Position: Project Officer (ARDHI)

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Implementation & Operations (50%)

  • Ensure smooth execution of project activities, tracking progress, and providing timely reports to the Project Manager and relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with partners, local government authorities (LGAs), and stakeholders to drive policy influence and create a lasting impact.
  • Support food security, resilience, and employment initiatives for target beneficiaries.
  • Identify and engage with vulnerable households, fostering peace and stability between refugees and host communities.
  • Promote gender equality and protection for project beneficiaries.

Expected Outcome: Successful project execution aligned with objectives and inclusion of the most vulnerable communities.

2. Budget & Resource Management (15%)

  • Contribute to budget planning, reviews, and financial reporting in coordination with finance teams.
  • Ensure compliance with World Vision’s financial policies and donor regulations.
  • Monitor budget utilization and support auditing processes.
  • Build synergies by integrating project plans with local government initiatives.

Expected Outcome: Efficient resource utilization and compliance with donor and organizational standards.

3. Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning (MEAL) & Reporting (20%)

  • Work closely with MEAL Officers to track project impact and refine strategies.
  • Collect baseline and periodic data to inform project decisions.
  • Generate evidence-based insights to influence policies and contribute to World Vision’s long-term strategies.
  • Organize learning forums and reflective meetings to enhance project effectiveness.

Expected Outcome: Strong monitoring mechanisms that drive continuous improvement and policy influence.

4. Networking, Visibility & Donor Recognition (10%)

  • Build strong relationships with LGAs, project partners, and key stakeholders.
  • Represent the project in various forums, ensuring recognition of World Vision and its donors.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing by documenting project challenges, successes, and lessons learned.

Expected Outcome: Enhanced project visibility and stakeholder collaboration.

5. Other Duties as Assigned (5%)

Qualifications & Experience

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Forestry, Environmental Science, Rural Development, Natural Resource Management, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in agriculture or rural development projects.
  • Experience working with rural communities and youth engagement.
  • Understanding of inclusive programming (e.g., gender equality, financial management, advocacy, clean energy).
  • Strong commitment to World Vision’s Christian values.

Preferred:

  • Experience with INGOs, UN agencies, or EU-funded projects.
  • Advanced degree in a related field.
  • Strong report-writing, facilitation, and communication skills in English & Swahili.
  • Familiarity with advocacy strategies at local and national levels.

Additional Requirements

  • Willingness to work in rural areas (occasional travel required).
  • Physical ability to operate in rural environments.
