Role Purpose

The Relationship Manager – Retail is responsible for driving the growth of both assets (loans) and liabilities (deposits) by building and nurturing strong relationships with SMEs and retail banking clients. This position requires a deep understanding of client financial needs, enabling the delivery of customized financial solutions that drive business expansion and customer satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities

Client Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain lasting relationships with SMEs and retail clients.
  • Understand client financial needs and provide tailored banking solutions.
  • Conduct regular client engagement to strengthen partnerships.

Revenue Growth & Business Development

  • Drive growth in deposits, loans, and other banking products.
  • Identify and acquire new clients, while leveraging cross-selling opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to generate high-quality leads.

Credit and Risk Management

  • Oversee credit risks and ensure compliance with banking policies.
  • Conduct periodic KYC (Know Your Customer) reviews.
  • Work closely with internal teams to manage financial structures and mitigate risk exposure.

Customer Service Excellence

  • Address client inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Resolve customer concerns efficiently to maintain satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Maintain accurate records for effective portfolio management.

Strategic Growth & Market Insights

  • Identify new business opportunities and market trends.
  • Prepare growth strategies and recommendations for senior management.

Operational Efficiency

  • Ensure smooth processing of client transactions.
  • Maintain portfolio performance within acceptable risk levels.

Qualifications & Experience

Educational Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Banking & Finance, Marketing, or a related field.

Work Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in SMEs and Retail Banking or a similar client-facing role.
  • Proven track record in client acquisition, portfolio management, and revenue generation.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong ability to assess client financial needs and recommend appropriate banking solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client interactions and presentations.
  • Proven ability to build rapport and maintain long-term client relationships.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple priorities.
  • High level of professionalism and integrity in managing client transactions and information.
