The Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) is responsible for the maintenance and development of the trunk and regional road networks across Tanzania Mainland. Additionally, TANROADS oversees axle load control operations via weighbridge scales.
TANROADS Pwani, under the directive of the Chief Executive, is seeking dedicated and skilled Tanzanians to join their team for two significant infrastructure projects:
Upgrading of Utete – Nyamwage Road (33.7km) to Bitumen Standard (Contract No: TRD/HQ/1036/2022/23)
Construction of Mramre Bridge (81m) and Approach Roads (3.0km) to Bitumen Standard
These positions are on a one-year specified contract basis. If you have the right qualifications and experience, we encourage you to apply for the following roles:
Available Positions:
1. Highway Engineer (1 Position)
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the construction process to ensure adherence to best practices and contractual obligations.
Ensure that completed works meet or exceed specified quality standards.
Qualifications & Experience:
Must be a registered Professional Civil Engineer with a Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Highway Engineering.
A postgraduate qualification in Highway Engineering is an added advantage.
At least seven (7) years of experience in road design and construction, including work on at least two similar projects in the past seven years.
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Proficiency in English is mandatory.
2. Materials Engineer (1 Position)
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct and supervise material investigations for optimal pavement design and construction.
Qualifications & Experience:
Must be a registered Professional Civil Engineer with a Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Pavement/Materials Engineering.
At least five (5) years of experience in pavement materials related to road construction.
Involvement in at least two road projects of similar scope.
Proficiency in English is mandatory.
3. Structure/Bridge Engineer (2 Positions)
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct structural analysis, design, and assessment of bridges and drainage structures.
Qualifications & Experience:
Must be a registered Civil Engineer with a degree in Civil, Bridge, or Structural Engineering.
At least five (5) years of experience in bridge design and construction.
Relevant experience in road works of a similar nature.
Proficiency in English is mandatory.
4. CAD Technician (1 Position)
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare accurate drawings and sketches in coordination with other engineers.
Assist the Highway Engineer in refining design elements for roads and bridges.
Qualifications & Experience:
Must be a Tanzanian citizen with a Diploma in Civil Engineering, Highway Engineering, or Land Surveying.
At least three (3) years of experience in CAD-related fields.
A Certificate in CAD is required.
5. Office Secretary (1 Position)
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain office records and correspondence.
Coordinate site meetings and facilitate communication with visitors and stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience:
Must be a Tanzanian citizen with a Diploma in Secretarial Studies from a recognized institution.
A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in a similar role.
